In 1989, a non-profit private foundation was created, visioning to collaborate with the Butantan Institute, through investments, and making easier its legal and relative attributions to the scientific, technological and cultural development, as well as the production of immunobiological products, as well as other products, and to community services.

The foundation made possible this development from Butantan Institute, having a effective system of resources insertion, allowing the reuse of the obtained resources with the supply of immunobiological to the Ministry of Health, restoring in new plants of production, signing contracts and partnerships with public or private entities within the country and abroad, mainly financing the researches, restoring laboratories and, offering additional benefits to the employees from Butantan Institute.T

The efficiency of using these budgetary and extra budgetary resources, as well as the reapplication of these following resources within the vaccines and sera commercialization, have made possible every starting development of Butantan Institute.
